Clyde Basner started carving stone in 2010 after stumbling upon it during graduate school for historic preservation. Between 2011 and 2017, before moving to the Hudson Valley, Basner worked as a masonry intern at Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and as a project manager and stone carving apprentice for many historic buildings in NYC, including the Columbus Monument, the Harry Winston Building, City Hall, 256 Broadway, 20 Exchange Place, 63 Wall Street, One Fifth Avenue, and 1060 Park Avenue.

A full time resident of Saugerties, NY since 2017, Basner works remotely as a construction manager and carves stone by hand in the basement studio.
